We do like a bit of colour in our lives here at home|lust, and today we share a favourite inspirational house belonging to Amber Lewis, the interior designer and blogger behind Amber Interiors.
Adding colour to a home design scheme can be daunting sometimes, but, as you can see in this house tour, creating an amazing mix of patterns and hues with accessories and accents, while maintaining a calm and collected minimalist base is quite easy and the result is totally, utterly uplifting.
As you know already, our mantra - and favourite style at home-lust.com - is boho minimalism, and we feel that the bohemian vibes in this home, built on a Scandinavian-style white, minimalist base, add comfort and an inviting feeling of cosiness.
As in this house tour, you want to start with a white/off-white background, plenty of neutral tones and airy rooms, and add colourful, cheery (non-permanent) accessories that really uplift and enliven the space.
Think eclectic; mix and match vibrant textiles, such as throws, cushions, rugs, curtains; add in accent accessories, such as vases, flowerpots with luxuriant greenery, bright and cheery art prints, ethnic design baskets, and interesting smaller accent furniture.
