Butterfly Lounge Chair
This is the famous "Butterfly Chair'", a design classic from 1950s. Relaxed and elegant without being formal, beloved of design bloggers everywhere and a timeless design piece found in art galleries and museums, it is so versatile it fits everywhere. The perfect lounging and reading chair; with a hint of colonial style, a little bit midcentury, totally cool.
The original design, the "BKF chair", later know as "Butterfly chair", was created in 1938 by an Argentinian design and architecture studio who worked with Le Corbusier. Now part of the part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Design Museum in Barcelona, it was mass-produced for the first time in the 50s by the Knoll company and remains one of the most admired mid-century design pieces that enjoys massive popularity even today.
Home Lust Concept Store sells a Scandinavian-made version of the Butterfly chair, made from dark brown leather with copper-finish steel frame. Size: 88X80X60cm
